EARTH DEFENSE FORCE: INSECT ARMAGEDDON

A follow-up to cult shooter Earth Defense Force 2017 is coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, publisher D3 has announced.

Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon sees you protecting the streets of New Detroit from a fresh invasion of alien bugs.

Matt Hazard developer Vicious Cycle has taken over the reigns from Sandlot, the Japanese studio responsible for Earth Defense Force 2017. It’s adding three-player online co-operative play for the main campaign as well as a Survival mode, which pits up to six players against an endless onslaught of alien critters.

The game will launch on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in spring 2011.
