¿BIOSHOCK O BIOCHOFF?
Though you can’t see it here, a Crazy Taxi-style arrow sits on the top of the screen, pointing you in the right direction if you get confused about where to go next.
Moving onto the next room, your wrench really starts to come in handy as you kill a guy with it and learn that searching corpses is extremely important. After knocking a guy out, you stand over his body and see a few circles appear on the screen containing his remains — and you can choose to take his goods, which is a great way to pick up money and ammo.
As the game progresses, you come across a bathroom stall with a golden lock on it asking for money. Given that you have very little money, the game has just introduced its very first fetch quest! So you spend the next little while taking alternate routes to see if there’s another way around, but eventually end up killing a bunch of enemies and making sure to search them for money so you can get in this stall
So while there’s been a lot of talk about whether BioShock is more of a shooter or more of an RPG, it seems — in the first few hours, at least — to be a first-person action game that involves a lot of shooting, but involves a lot of other stuff as well.
In the first couple hours, the game looks incredible, controls very well, has fantastic pacing and atmosphere, and yet still feels like it’s just getting started. Now the challenge is on for the rest of the game.
